      <image:title>Board of Directors - Marlon Goulbourne</image:title>
<image:caption>New York, NY My name is Marlon, and I'm proud to be on the Charter Oak board. I'm a black American of Jamaican descent, and growing up I was always told to ascribe to be a part of the so-called "talented tenth". While I always worked hard, it's important to acknowledge that I did not earn two psychology degrees and reach 13 years in the not-for-profit field on my own. I was the beneficiary of several programs and grants over the years, and I'm proud to provide my insight to my fellow board members. Just one small way I can pay it forward, and who knows? Maybe my decision to advocate for your fledgling group will lead to a person I'll never meet being in a position to help a future generation in the same way.</image:caption>
